The Dutch Reformed church in the centre of Blaricum is a medieval building with a simple Romanesque form, substantially unchanged in its exterior since the 14th century. It stands at the highest point of the village, visible from across the surrounding heathland.
The church is still in active use and not always open for casual visits, but the exterior and churchyard are always accessible. The churchyard contains some historic grave markers. The church is the central image in most photographs of Blaricum and forms the visual anchor of the village centre, which otherwise consists mainly of a few cafes and small shops.
