Rensenpark occupies the site of Emmen's old zoo, which closed when Wildlands opened. The result is an unusual city park: paths and mature planting remain, while old zoo structures have been adapted for culture, small events, play, and quiet wandering.
It is not a polished royal park, and that is part of the charm. Come here after Wildlands or between trains to see how the city reused its most famous old attraction rather than erasing it.
