Hemsedal's terrain park is among the best in Norway and draws freeskiers and snowboarders from across Scandinavia. The park features a range of kickers, rails, and jibs graded by difficulty, with a dedicated big air jump area at one end. The park crew maintain the features daily during the ski season and the construction quality is high — the hits are consistent and well-shaped. Several Norwegian national team riders have trained here.
The park is lit for evening sessions on selected days throughout the season, which extends the available riding time and creates a different atmosphere from the daytime skiing. For beginners to freestyle, there is a separate learning area with small, low-consequence features. The terrain park is accessible on a standard ski area lift pass.
Hemsedal also hosts a programme of freestyle competitions during the season, including junior events that attract young riders from across Norway and Sweden. The competition calendar varies by year, but there is usually at least one major event in January or February.
