The Pomor Museum is the best indoor stop in Barentsburg. Its displays cover Russian Pomor history, mining, Arctic wildlife, rocks, fossils, and the wider human story of Svalbard.
It is old-fashioned rather than slick, but that suits the town. If the weather turns hard or your boat schedule gives you time, come here before drifting back to the harbour.
