Vardø Lighthouse is Norway's easternmost lighthouse, standing on the outer coast near Vardø. The 20-metre tower dates from 1896 and was automated in 1991, though in the bright weeks of the midnight sun it has little work to do.
It is a simple but memorable Arctic coastal sight, best combined with Vardøhus Fortress, the Steilneset Memorial, and the bird cliffs of Hornøya.
