Planty Park

Tree-lined park belt running along the south side of the centre

Planty is the green ring that runs along the southern flank of central Białystok, connecting the Branicki Palace gardens with the Biała river. Walking paths thread between mature limes and chestnuts, and small footbridges cross the river itself. There are playgrounds, a few sculptures, and seasonal cafés.

It is the most used green space in the city, busy with prams and joggers on summer evenings and used as a winter walking route through the snow. A pleasant half-hour link between the palace and the central streets.
