The Mazurian Gate (Brama Mazurska) is the only one of Brodnica's medieval town gates to survive in something close to its original form. A square brick tower of three storeys, built in the late 14th century, it once controlled the eastern entrance to the walled town on the road towards Masuria — hence the name.
The pointed-arch passage at ground level is still in use, and the upper floors now house a small regional museum branch with finds from the castle and the medieval town. It's a quick stop on a walking circuit from the Market Square down to the castle.
