This purpose-built museum tells the story of Poland's emergence as a state in the 9th and 10th centuries, using archaeological finds, models, and interactive displays. The collections include jewellery, weapons, and everyday objects excavated from the Piast strongholds of Greater Poland, providing a rare ground-level view of early medieval life. Particularly strong on the Piast dynasty that unified the Polish tribes and established the first kingdom.
