Praia do Carvalho is a small cove near Carvoeiro, tucked between the limestone cliffs that make this part of the Algarve so photogenic. The approach through the rock gives the beach a more secretive feel than its actual popularity might suggest.
It is a good stop for swimming in calm conditions, cliff scenery, and a quieter alternative to the area's broader resort beaches. As always on this coast, pay attention to sea conditions and falling-rock warnings rather than treating the cliffs as scenery only.
