The village beach is a broad, sandy bay with calm, relatively clear water and good facilities including sun loungers, showers, and a lifeguard in season. The sand is pale and the beach faces roughly south, so it gets sun throughout the day. The western end, near the fort, is slightly less crowded. In July and August it fills up, but early morning and late afternoon it remains pleasant.
