Porto Santo is drier and sunnier than Madeira, with beach weather stretching well beyond high summer. July and August bring the warmest sea, busiest beach days, and the most holiday energy.
Late spring and early autumn are often better for independent travelers: warm enough for swimming, quieter in Vila Baleira, and more comfortable for short walks in the island's exposed interior.
