Salgueira Beach sits at the northern end of Póvoa de Varzim's seafront promenade and has long been a favourite spot for surfers drawn to its consistent Atlantic swells. It is less manicured than the main town beach, which gives it a more relaxed character. Beach bars operate through summer, and swimming pools, restaurants, and the town's historic bullring are all within easy walking distance.
