Magoito is a broad, wind-swept beach backed by sandstone cliffs about 15 minutes' drive west of Sintra. It feels wilder and less developed than the better-known beaches at Azenhas do Mar or Praia Grande nearby. The sand is wide at low tide, the surf is strong, and the cliffs give the whole place a slightly dramatic feel.
Access is down a steep path from the village above. There's a small car park and a couple of seasonal restaurants at the top. Buses run from near Sintra's railway station, though having a car makes life easier. A good choice if you want Atlantic coast without the crowds.
