Poça da Dona Beija is a small complex of warm-water bathing pools built around a stream of iron-rich thermal water on the edge of Furnas village. There are five connected pools at slightly different temperatures (around 35–40°C) arranged among ferns and trees along the watercourse. The setting is more intimate than the large Terra Nostra pool and the water is comparable in mineral content and colour.
Entry is around eight euros (2024) and the site is open from 7 in the morning until 23 in the evening — a long window for a bathing place, and the late-evening hours make it especially atmospheric, with the pools lit and the steam rising in cool night air. As with Terra Nostra, the iron will permanently stain swimwear, so bring darks.
