The old town is tiny and walkable end to end in fifteen minutes. The main square and all the Saxon-era buildings are within a few hundred metres of each other. For trips beyond the centre — to the surrounding villages, the Borgo Pass, or the Călimani mountains — a hire car is by far the easiest option. Local buses cover the wider county but are infrequent and slow.
