Getting There

Belgorod has a regional airport (EGO) with flights to Moscow (Sheremetyevo and Domodedovo) and a handful of other Russian cities. Given the security situation near the Ukrainian border, check the current operational status of the airport before planning travel.

The main alternative is by train from Moscow — the overnight service from Moscow Kursky station takes around 8 hours, or faster express trains cover the route in 6-7 hours. Trains also connect Belgorod to Voronezh and Kursk. The railway station is in the centre of the city, within walking distance of Sobornaya Square.

Note: As of 2024, Belgorod has been subject to security incidents related to the war in Ukraine. The Ukrainian border is approximately 40 km south. Check your government's travel advisory before visiting.
