Church of St. John the Warrior

The Church of St. John the Warrior is an early 18th-century Russian Orthodox church from the reign of Peter the Great. Its architecture mixes Muscovite baroque with Ukrainian baroque and the European influences that were entering Russian design at the time.

It sits in Zamoskvorechye, close enough to combine with the Tretyakov Gallery and the smaller Museum of Tropinin. The church is best treated as a short architectural stop rather than a long museum visit.
