Okhotny Ryad is a large underground shopping mall built beneath Manezhnaya Square, right next to the Kremlin and Red Square. Opened in 1997, it was one of the first modern malls in Moscow and remains a popular stop for both tourists and locals. Three underground levels hold a mix of international fashion chains, shoe shops, and casual restaurants.
The mall itself is not architecturally remarkable, but the location is hard to beat. The fountains and sculptures on the square above -- including Zurab Tsereteli's bronze fairy-tale figures -- are worth a look on your way in or out. Nearest metro: Okhotny Ryad (steps away) or Teatralnaya.
