The Monument to Waiting Women, officially known as Zhdushchaya, looks out toward Kola Bay and honours the wives and partners of Arctic sailors waiting for ships to return. Its waterfront setting and unusually personal subject make it one of Murmansk's more memorable smaller monuments.
