Tyumen is well connected to the rest of Russia by rail and air.
By air: Roshchino International Airport (TJM) is about 12km west of the city centre. It serves multiple daily flights to Moscow (Domodedovo and Sheremetyevo), plus connections to St Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, and other Russian cities. Several airlines serve the route; Aeroflot and UTair are the main carriers. The journey to Moscow takes about 2 hours.
By rail: Tyumen is on the Trans-Siberian Railway main line, served by trains between Moscow and the Far East. The journey to Moscow takes about 32 hours; to Yekaterinburg about 5 hours; to Novosibirsk about 16 hours. Tickets can be booked through the Russian Railways (RZD) website. The station is within walking distance of the city centre.
By road: Tyumen is connected by good roads to Yekaterinburg (325km west) and to Tobolsk (250km northeast). Long-distance buses serve these and other regional destinations from the main bus station near the railway station.
