KiriIlo-Belozerskiy Monastery
Kirillo-Belozerskiy Monastery was founded in 1397 on the coast of the Siversky Lake. Today it is situated on the territory of Kirilov, Vologodskiy region. The Monastery's architectural ensemble is one of the most significant creations of the Russian art culture. The whole medieval city with majestic stone churches surrounded by stone walls and towers of the "Great Sovereign's fortress" was stretched on the coast of the lake. In reconstructed building of the Monastery one can see today the exhibitions of the painting, icon and various kinds of arts and crafts.

Goritsky Voskresensky nunnery
The monastery is located near Kirillov. It was founded in 1544 by princess Efrosinja Staritskaja the aunt of Tsar Ioann Grozny (Ivan the Terrible). Historically Goritsky Monastery located remote from the capital was a place of an imprisonment of abandoned wives and out of favor female relatives. Among the remained buildings of the Monastery, the Temple of Resurrection is the most interesting. Other constructions of a Monastery form a picturesque complex.
