Getting There

Voronezh is well connected to Moscow by rail. Trains on the Moscow–Rostov-on-Don mainline stop here regularly; the journey from Moscow Paveletsky takes about 8-9 hours by slower overnight trains, or around 5-6 hours on faster daytime services. Buses from Moscow's bus stations also serve Voronezh and take a similar time by road.

Voronezh International Airport (VOZ) operates flights to Moscow Sheremetyevo, St Petersburg, and a handful of other Russian cities. Flight time to Moscow is under 2 hours. The airport is about 12 km from the city centre and accessible by taxi.

From Voronezh there are also rail connections southward toward Rostov-on-Don and the North Caucasus, making it a natural stopping point on longer journeys through southern Russia.
