Moored on the Don River embankment, this full-size replica of Peter the Great's 1700 flagship is one of Voronezh's most impressive sights. The ship measures 36 metres long and is rigged with masts and cannon in the style of the late 17th century. The interior is fitted out as a museum covering Russian naval history and the shipbuilding programme at Voronezh.
It is a genuine wow of a sight when you first see it moored on the river, looking dramatically out of place in a landlocked city a thousand kilometres from the sea. Board via the gangway from the embankment and explore the decks, the gun ports, and the captain's quarters. Allow 1-2 hours.
