Air
Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport (BEG) is Serbia's main international gateway, served by Air Serbia, Wizz Air, Ryanair, Turkish Airlines, Lufthansa, and many others. Air Serbia operates direct flights from numerous European cities and from New York (JFK). Wizz Air and Ryanair offer budget connections to cities across Europe. Nis Constantine the Great Airport handles some low-cost European flights as well.
From the airport, bus line 72 runs to the city center (about 40 minutes, under 1 EUR). Taxis to central Belgrade cost around 15-20 EUR -- use the official taxi desk inside the terminal to avoid overcharging.
Rail
Serbia's rail network connects to neighboring countries, though services are slow by Western European standards. The Belgrade-Novi Sad high-speed line, opened in recent years, has cut the journey to under an hour. International trains run to Budapest, with the Belgrade-Budapest route improving thanks to new Chinese-built infrastructure. Connections to other neighbors exist but are infrequent.
Bus
International buses are often the best option for reaching Serbia from neighboring countries. Frequent services run from Budapest, Sarajevo, Zagreb, Skopje, Sofia, and Podgorica. Belgrade's main bus station is centrally located near the waterfront.
Car
Serbia is well connected by road to all its neighbors. Major highways link Belgrade to Novi Sad (north), Nis (south), and the Croatian border (west). Motorway tolls are paid in cash or by card at toll booths. An International Driving Permit is recommended.
