Sokobanja is in eastern Serbia, about 230 km from Belgrade and 50 km from Zaječar. There is no direct train service; buses are the main option.
By bus: Regular buses run from the Lasta terminal in Belgrade, with the journey taking around 3.5–4 hours. From Niš, about 90 km southwest, connections are frequent and the journey takes about 1.5 hours. Local buses also serve the town from Zaječar and other nearby centres.
By car: The drive from Belgrade takes about 2.5–3 hours via the E75 motorway south towards Niš and then east. The final stretch through the valley is pleasant driving. Parking in the town is straightforward.
