Cala del Aceite

Cala del Aceite is a small sandy cove set into the pine-covered headlands about 2.5 km north of Conil's town centre. The access path from the road drops steeply to the beach, which is enclosed on both sides by rocky outcrops. The water is clear and calm by Conil's standards — the surrounding cliffs provide shelter from the prevailing southwest winds, and the result is one of the most pleasant swimming spots on this stretch of coast.

The cove has a chiringuito that operates in summer, well-regarded locally for its grilled fish and its position looking out over the water. Arrive early in July and August — the beach fills up by mid-morning and parking on the approach road becomes difficult. In June and September you can arrive at a reasonable hour and have the place largely to yourself.
