Cangas Wine Museum

The Cangas Wine Museum sits in the Santiso wine quarter and explains one of the oddest pleasures of western Asturias: vineyards climbing steep inland slopes in a region better known for cider. Wine has been made around Cangas for centuries, and the modern protected denomination has helped bring the old terraces back into view.

The museum is small, but useful before visiting a local bodega or ordering Cangas wine with dinner. It is strongest on tools, vineyard work, and the stubborn labour behind this mountain wine country.
