The headland of Cap de Cala Figuera marks the southern tip of the Bay of Palma, about 20 minutes' walk from Magaluf along a coastal path. The tower at the top dates from the sixteenth century and the views from the headland over the bay are impressive — Palma Cathedral is visible on clear days, and the scale of the bay (one of the largest in the Mediterranean) becomes apparent from up here.
The walk out is easy and flat for most of the route, then climbs gently to the headland. The path passes through scrubby Mediterranean vegetation — wild rosemary, cistus, and pines — and the rocky cliffs below have crystal-clear water if you want to swim. It is one of the most accessible escapes from the resort and takes no more than an hour including the return.
