Carrer Punta Ballena is the kilometre-long strip of bars and clubs that has made Magaluf famous — or notorious, depending on your perspective. It runs parallel to the beach behind the promenade and contains dozens of bars, foam party venues, and all-inclusive drink package outlets. At night in July and August it is shoulder-to-shoulder with British and German package holidaymakers.
If you are there for the experience, the strip is genuinely concentrated entertainment — cheap drinks, loud music, and nowhere to be subtle. If you are not, it is easy enough to avoid: the beach and promenade are on the other side of the hotel strip and have a completely different atmosphere. The strip dies down outside the summer season, and from October to May most of the venues close.
