Western Water Park

Western Water Park is the large, Wild West-themed water park on the western edge of Magaluf, covering around 150,000 square metres with slides, wave pools, and a lazy river. It is aimed squarely at families and is one of the best water parks in the Balearics. The bigger slides include a near-vertical drop and a series of multi-person tube rides.

The park gets crowded in July and August, and queues for the main slides can be long from mid-morning. Arriving early and targeting the busiest slides first is the standard strategy. A full day here in the sun requires sunscreen discipline — the park provides very little shade except around the food and drink areas. Entry tickets can be bought online for a small discount.

A story
The Western Water Park was one of the first major water parks built in Spain, opening in 1985 when Magaluf was at the height of its package-holiday boom. The Wild West theming — timber forts, saloons, sheriff's stars — was a deliberate attempt to add family appeal to a resort that was becoming associated with purely adult excess.
