Menorca Airport (MAH) is just west of Maó and handles direct flights from most major European cities, with the most frequent services from the UK, Germany, and mainland Spain. Seasonal charter flights are the main connection to northern Europe; year-round scheduled services operate from Barcelona, Madrid, and Palma. The flight from London takes about two hours.
Ferries from Barcelona (about nine hours overnight, or six hours on the fast catamaran) and Valencia (about eight hours) arrive at the port of Maó. Trasmediterránea and Baleàlia Ferries operate the main routes. Ferries from Mallorca run in summer. Arriving by ferry gives a spectacular entrance to Maó harbour — one of the finest in the Mediterranean — and is worth considering for the experience alone.
