Playa de Troya is the classic Las Américas beach: central, busy, sandy, and surrounded by the machinery of a big resort. It is not the most beautiful beach on Tenerife, but it is one of the easiest. Sunbeds, showers, bars, restaurants, and hotels are all a few steps away.
The water is usually manageable thanks to breakwaters, though conditions still change with swell and wind. Come early if you want a calmer hour, or late in the day when the light softens and the beach starts shifting toward evening drinks.
