The former Franciscan convent stands on Plaza de la Libertad, close to the heart of the old town. Its courtyards and thick-walled rooms now serve as a municipal library, small museum space, and exhibition venue.
It is not a major museum, but it gives Garachico another layer beyond the lava pools: this was a prosperous town with convents, merchants, and civic buildings before the volcano changed its fortunes.
