Iglesia de Santa Ana was founded in the early 16th century and rebuilt after heavy damage in the 1706 eruption. Its old wooden doors survived, a small but pleasing piece of continuity in a town otherwise forced to remake itself.
Inside, look for the 16th-century Mexican crucifix, made with a pre-Hispanic corn-paste technique by Tarascan artisans. It is an unexpected Atlantic-world detail in a quiet Canarian parish church.
