Plaza de Toros

Tarancón's bullring, built at the end of the nineteenth century, is a circular brick arena of modest size on the south side of town. It hosts only a handful of corridas a year — typically during the town's August fiesta — but the building is open for visits at other times and is in regular use for concerts, regional festivals and the encierros (running of the bulls) in summer.

Whether or not you have any interest in the bullfight itself, the architecture is a respectable provincial example of the type, with the characteristic horseshoe-arched façade and the wooden barrera around the ring. It is worth a quick look on a walk down through the town's southern streets.
