A small hermitage on the western edge of town dedicated to the Virgen de Riánsares, Tarancón's patron. The shrine is unassuming from outside — a single nave with a tiled roof — but the image inside is the object of the town's most important religious devotion, carried in procession through the streets in early September during the patronal fiestas.
The hermitage gave its name to the dukedom granted to Agustín Muñoz, the second husband of Queen María Cristina, whose family palace stands in the old town. Outside fiesta week the building is usually closed, but the location on a small rise gives a quiet view back over the town.
