The parish church of Sant Julià rises above the central square of Argentona, its tall single nave Gothic in origin but heavily rebuilt in the 16th and 19th centuries. The plain stone facade and the squat bell tower are the postcard image of the town; inside, the church holds a baroque retable and a small museum of religious silverwork.
It is rarely open outside Mass times, but the plaza in front — flanked by the town hall, the càntir museum, and a row of cafes — is the heart of Argentona and the obvious place to start a walk through the old centre.
