Sa Conca

Sa Conca is the most attractive of the smaller beaches near Platja d'Aro — a sheltered cove backed by pine trees, with clear water and a peaceful atmosphere that contrasts sharply with the bustle of Platja Gran 2 km to the south. The beach is sandy with some rocks at the edges, and the water is deep enough for snorkelling around the rock formations on the northern side.

Getting there requires either a short walk along the Camí de Ronda coastal path from Platja Gran (about 20–30 minutes) or driving to a small car park and walking five minutes down. Minimal amenities — a seasonal snack bar in high summer, showers, basic facilities — but the beauty of the setting is the point. Best visited in the morning before day-trippers arrive, or in May and September when it is not crowded at all.

A story
Sa Conca has appeared in Catalan advertising campaigns multiple times over the decades as a paradigm of the Costa Brava's best beaches — clear water, pine-backed sand, and relative seclusion despite being only minutes from a major resort. The fact that it requires a short walk to reach keeps away the most casual visitors.
