La Molina is Catalonia's oldest ski resort and one of the largest in the Pyrenees, sitting at the head of a side valley about fifteen kilometres south of Puigcerdà. It joins with neighbouring Masella to form Alp 2500, with 145 kilometres of pistes and lifts up to nearly 2,500 metres. The skiing is varied, with long mid-mountain cruisers and steeper terrain off the upper lifts.
In summer La Molina becomes a mountain-biking and hiking centre, with downhill bike trails using the lifts and easy walks through the high pastures. The resort is reachable from Puigcerdà by train in twenty minutes or by car on the N-260.
