Montesquiu's Castle is a fortified country house north of Ripoll, with medieval origins and later additions that turned it into a noble residence. The older watchtower is still part of the structure, while the rooms and grounds show how the building shifted from defence to landed comfort.
The castle sits inside a small natural park, so it is best treated as a half-day outing: tour the house if it is open, then walk the surrounding woods and meadows.
