The lighthouse stands at the high point of the old headland, where the medieval castle once guarded the coast. The building dates from the early 20th century and now has a small exhibition on maritime signals and lighthouses.
Even if you skip the museum, walk up for the panorama. From here the town, the beach and the rocky Costa Brava shoreline line up in one clean view.
