Museo do Viño

Small museum tracing the Condado de Tea winemaking tradition

Address Rúa da Feira, Arbo, Pontevedra

This small museum in Arbo traces the winemaking traditions of the Condado de Tea sub-zone, part of the Rías Baixas denomination of origin. Displays cover the local grape varieties -- primarily Treixadura and Albariño -- along with traditional production tools and the cultural role wine has played in the Miño river valley for centuries.

Arbo sits right on the Portuguese border and the museum makes a good stop if you're driving between Vigo and the inland wine country. The town is also known for its lamprey festival each spring, so time your visit for late March if you want both wine history and one of Galicia's oddest culinary traditions.
