The Morrazo Peninsula juts into the Atlantic between the rías of Pontevedra and Vigo, making it one of the most scenic corners of Galicia. The peninsula takes in the small towns of Marín, Bueu, Cangas, Moaña, and Vilaboa — all with working waterfronts and good seafood.
The landscape is hilly and green, with footpaths running along the coast and through forests. The archaeological heritage is rich, with important Megalithic remains scattered across the peninsula. The church of San Andrés de Hío, dating from the 12th century, is worth a visit for its Romanesque tympanum and the beautiful 18th-century cruceiro in its churchyard — one of the finest wayside crosses in Galicia, sculpted by Xosé Cerviño.
