Valencia Airport (Manises) is 8 km west of the city and is served by full-service and low-cost carriers from across Europe. Metro line 3 or 5 runs from the airport into the centre in around 20 minutes; a taxi is around €20.
By high-speed train, the AVE from Madrid takes around 1h45 and from Barcelona around 3 hours. Both arrive at Joaquín Sorolla station, a short walk or shuttle bus from the historic Estació del Nord in the city centre. Regular trains and buses connect Valencia with Alicante, Castellón, and the rest of the Spanish coast.
Driving is straightforward — the A-7 runs along the coast and the A-3 connects to Madrid. Parking inside the old city is tightly restricted; use one of the underground car parks around the Mercat Central or near the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.
