Torre Mudèjar

Torre Mudèjar is the old watchtower of Paterna, a short trip northwest of central Valencia. Its origins are Moorish, probably from the 11th or 12th century, but later rebuilding turned the square defensive tower into the round form that makes it stand out among Valencia's medieval towers.

Climb the outside stair for the view across the plain; on clear days you can see towards Sagunto in one direction and Denia in the other. It is a compact sight, but a good one if you like defensive architecture and small-town detours.
