L'Umbracle

A 320-metre-long covered walk forming the southern boundary of the City of Arts and Sciences — a spine of 55 fixed and 54 floating arches sheltering palms, orange trees, climbing plants, and a small sculpture garden of contemporary works. It's free, open daylight hours, and the best way to enter the Calatrava complex on foot.

In summer the underground car park beneath is converted into the Mya nightclub — one of Valencia's biggest summer venues — and the arches become a club terrace until dawn.
