The Joe Hill Museum occupies the birthplace of Joel Emmanuel Hagglund, who left Gavle for the United States and became Joe Hill, the labour organiser, songwriter, and Industrial Workers of the World martyr.
It is a small, focused museum, best for visitors interested in migration, labour history, or the strange afterlife of a Swedish-born radical whose songs travelled much farther than he did.
