Borstahusen is the old fishing village that sits south of Landskrona's harbour, and it is the most charming corner of the municipality. The fishermen's cottages are painted in the traditional ochre, red, and mustard colours of Swedish coastal vernacular architecture; the narrow lanes wind down to a small harbour that still sees a handful of working boats.
The beach at Borstahusen is the best in the area — a long sand and pebble strand with calm, shallow water suitable for swimming. In summer it draws families from Landskrona and the surrounding towns. The view west from the beach takes in the Öresund with Denmark visible across the water on clear days.
Borstahusens Fiskelage, the preserved fishing cooperative building, gives a sense of what the village looked like when it was a working community. There is a good seafood restaurant nearby — the smoked mackerel and pickled herring are the things to order.
