Summer — June through August — is the best time to visit Landskrona, and the only time to plan a day trip to Ven. The ferry runs frequently, the days are long, and the town has an easy beach-town feel. The weather is reliably mild rather than hot: temperatures of 20–25°C are typical, with occasional warm spells pushing higher.
May and September are quieter and often very pleasant — the crowds on Ven disappear, the light is softer, and the citadel gardens are at their best in spring. Winter in Skåne is grey and windy, with short days, though the fortress looks dramatic against a winter sky and the museum is open year-round.
The annual Landskrona Foto festival in late summer brings international photography exhibitions to venues around town and has established itself as one of the better photography events in Scandinavia.
