Bommars is one of the seven decorated farmhouses of Halsingland inscribed by UNESCO, and one of Ljusdal's clearest reasons to detour. The farmstead looks modest from a distance, but the interiors show the local habit of turning guest rooms into painted showpieces for weddings, feasts, and family prestige.
It is best visited on a guided tour, since the details are easy to miss without context: imported influences, local painters, and the way prosperous farmers used decoration to announce their place in the community.
